1300 and 1333 Broadway
Overview:
After disrupted by a natural disaster, Landtech gave new life to both of these high-rise buildings (originally constructed of structural steel in the 1970’s) with a structural seismic evaluation and retrofit recommendation.
Project Details:
Location: Oakland, CA
Timeline: This project kicked off after the Northridge earthquake that occurred in 1994.
Project Needs: When the earthquake in ’94 lead to several modern steel building connections in older steel frame buildings showing signs of distress, two separate clients asked us to investigate their buildings to determine the structural integrity of the steel framing and connections for seismic loads.
Landtech’s Solution: Kamal Obeid served as structural engineer of record for the analysis of the buildings and recommendations for repair.
